1925 - 2021
Edward Harold ("Ted") Viall, born on Saturday, 5 July 1925, peacefully slipped from time into eternity on Saturday, 12 June 2021 at his residence in Tranquility Estates, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Ted was preceded in death by his twin brother Edwin ("Bud") Viall; his sister Donna Blake; and, his wife of 73 years, Arlene. Ted is survived by three children: daughter Debra (Dale) Peterson of Clarkston, Michigan; son David (Cathy) Viall of Dearborn Heights,Michigan, and Diane Viall of Ferndale, Michigan; and granddaughter Dawn Betrus-Dunlap of Dallas, Texas.
After serving actively in the Army Air Forces (1943-1946) as a FIRST LIEUTENANT and as a reservist until 1957, Ted graduated from Michigan State University in Landscape Architecture, worked for the City of Detroit designing municipal building grounds and parks, and retired after nearly three decades. Ted also designed landscaping for many of the private homes built throughout Detroit's suburbs.
Ted actively enjoyed bowling, fishing, and golf into his 90's, and continued watching sports. A family service and interment for Arlene and Ted Viall is planned for Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan. |
