Coon, David- Of Grand Blanc, age 73, died Friday, May 16, 2025, at his residence.
Visitation will be held at 4-7 pm Friday, May 23, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Gary Curell and Pastor Lucas Miller officiating.
Contribution can be made in his name to St, Jude Children Hospital. Flowers may be sent to Swartz Funeral Home.
Private family service will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
David was born in Flint, Michigan on December 5, 1951, the son of the late Warren Coon and Gladys Canute.
David was a member of Sonrise Ministries Congregation, UAW member, a veteran of Army he also was an Indian Guides leader and was a Boy Scout.
David was a skilled trades welder for 33 years at General Motors. Med-trans patient driver, Semi truck driver for Bell Warehouse.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years Deborah A. Coon;
Son, Jeffery D. Coon;
Daughter, Rachel L Rivera;
Brother, James Coon;
Half-brother Glen Coon;
6 beautiful grandchildren Morgan Coon, Mollie Coon, Ariah Rivera, Hollyn Rivera, Israel Rivera;
Son-in-law Jesse Rivera III;
Daughter-in-law, Lauren Coon;
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather “Doc” Eldred 2 great-grandchildren Gabriel Rivera IV and Noah Rivera and half-brother Dwayne Coon, father-in-law Howard Dunsmore and mother-in-law Deloris Dunsmore.
