Deborah Harvey, 76 passed away July 3 2023 in Chattanooga TN. She was born April 17, 1947, to Mr. William Andrews Davenport and Sally Mae Davenport in Flint MI. Deborah graduated from Flint Northern High School, class of 1965. She retired from the Hurley Medical Center after 30 years of employment. Deborah was a feisty woman who always stood her ground. She enjoyed shopping on HSN and the QVC network. She was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to gospel music. She absolutely adored her daughter and grandchildren and loved spending her money on them.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Evon Davenport; a brother-in-law, Willie Houston
She leaves to cherish precious memories, her daughter, Wanda Michelle (Stephen) Barber; two grandchildren, Carmen Barber and Christopher Barber; two brothers, Michael Andrews Davenport and Marvin James Davenport; three sisters, Brenda Joyce Clifton, Gwendolyn Davenport (Alvin Lee, Sr) Gatley, and Sonja Davenport Houston; 3 nieces, 2 nephews; 7 great nephews, 3 great nieces; 1 great-great nephew and 1 great-great niece.
A 10:00 AM funeral service will be held Sunday, July 9, 2023, in the chapel of John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made in the name of Carmen Barber to Southern Adventist University, 4881 Taylor Circle, Collegedale, TN, 37315, and in the name of Christopher Barber to Georgia Cumberland Academy, 397 Academy Drive, Calhoun, GA, 30701, Attn: Business Office.
