Thorsby, Patricia A. – of Clio, age 83, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023, at her residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, April 28, 2023, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial to follow to West Vienna Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 11AM until 8PM a time of sharing will be held at 6PM and on Friday from 10AM until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Thetford Sr. Center or the Clio Eagles.
Patricia was born February 14, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Elmer and Marion (Gardner) Schanick. She married the love of her life Donald Thorsby on November 19, 1955, he preceded her in death in 2005. Patricia worked for Buick for 33.5 years, she retired in 2005. Patricia volunteered at the Thetford Senior Center and the VA hospital. She was a member of the Clio Eagles, VFW, and Military Order of the Cooties. These organizations were a big part of her life. She held many positions; Grand President, Department President, District 10 President, Inside and Outside Guard, Trustee, Department Credential Co-Chairman, and Credentials Chairman. These are just a few of the positions she held over the years. Patricia could walk in a room, and it would light up, she was the life of the party with the biggest heart. She enjoyed making diamond dots, reading, and traveling. Patricia was always looking for her next adventure from visiting Taiwan to Sky diving at 73 years old. More than anything she was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by many.
Surviving are: Children: Donnie (Rose) Thorsby, Tina (Mark) Waites, Penny (David McGrath) Lagalo, and Timothy (Lorrie) Thorsby; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Mark, Timmie, Tony, Latrisha, Christopher, Jeremy, Kristi, Jason, and Tyler; She was bless with many great grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews; Special friends: Kathy, Eric, Shirley, Colette, Lucille. She is preceded in death by: Husband, Donald Thorsby; Brother, Elmer “Woody” Schanick; Daughter-In-Law, Ronda Thorsby; Niece, Betsy Miller.
