SPOHN, Ty Kevin – of Flint, MI, age 56, passed away Thursday, April 15, 2021. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 12 PM Friday, April 23, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Entombment in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, April 22, 2021 and 11 AM-12 PM Friday, April 23, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lola and Nolan’s college fund, in Ty’s memory.
Ty was born in Flint, MI on July 12, 1964, son of Joyce (Fellows) Spohn and the late Gerald Spohn. He married Lisa Gusie on June 16, 2004. Ty owned and operated Spohn Painting. He took pride in his business and many customers became friends. Ty loved sports. Whether it was playing, watching, coaching or being heavily involved in Lola’s volleyball and Nolan’s baseball, soccer and basketball. Ty also enjoyed exercising, fishing, nature, the outdoors and his annual trip to Ludington, MI. He knew and loved so many people and greatly appreciated his mother, wife, children, siblings, in-laws and really all friends and family including the Kearsley Community and Rivals and Arsenal families. Ty had a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
Ty is survived by his wife and best friend, Lisa Spohn; 3 children Meghan, Lola, Nolan; several grandchildren; mother, Joyce Spohn; mother-in-law, Norene Gusie; 4 siblings, Jamie (Mark) Uhlmann, Cindy (Don) Cheek, Kelly (John Gregus) Nettell and Scott “Bubba” Spohn; in-laws, Dave (Teresa) Gusie, Sheryl (Ken) Hodge, Paul (Anne Cole) Gusie and Susan (Mike) Morris; aunts and uncles; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews will miss fun Uncle Ty; many other loving family members and friends, including many close childhood friends; 2 cats, Rusty and Leo. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Spohn and father-in-law, Bill Gusie; dog, Billy and cat, Louie.
