SHEPHERD,Mary V. – formerly of Lake George, Michigan, age 107, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2018. Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI. Mary was born in Tullamore, Ireland on May 4, 1911 the daughter of the late Edward and Helen Johnston. She married George Shepherd on July 3, 1952. Mary retired from A.C. Spark Plug. She had a long time love of sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. After retiring she enjoyed many years traveling and had resided at both Lake George, Michigan and Zephyrhills, Florida. Surviving are: children, JoAnne Swartz of Portage, MI, Vicki (Michael) Green of Davison, MI, George H. (Barb) Shepherd of Roanoke, TX, and Patricia Gilmer of Durand, MI; 13 grand-children; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; also surviving is her 102 year old sister, Rita Montague. Mary was preceded in death by her husband George; daughter, Linda Prause; brothers, George and Austin Johnston; sister, Virginia Bolerjack; sons-in-law, Jack Swartz and Dale Gilmer; and many other friends and loved ones.
