PRINCING, Loren “Pete” – of Mt. Morris, age 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 18th, at his daughter’s home. A celebration of Pete’s life, including military honors, will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 21, at the Montrose United Methodist Church, 158 E. State St. Montrose, MI. Pastor Hal Phillips will officiate. A luncheon will follow the celebration at the church. A private family burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park following the luncheon. Visitation will be at the church prior to the service on Wednesday, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to Montrose United Methodist Church or Charity of Choice.
Pete was born November 19, 1932 in Flint to Delbert and Harriet (Barber) Princing. He grew up in the Beecher area and graduated from Beecher High School in 1951. Pete loved to play sports and lettered three years in Football and Baseball. He was on the great 1949 Beecher Football Team that won the championship and in 2004 was inducted into the Greater Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame. Pete was President of his High School class all 4 years. On October 25, 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Donna Boulton, in Flint. She preceded him in death in 2013. Pete bravely and heroically served his country in the US Army from 1952 to 1954 in Korea before returning to Ft. Carson, Colorado. Pete retired in 1993 after working for AC Spark Plug / GM for 41 1/2 years. He was rewarded several times by GM for inventing cost saving measures for the company. Pete was a member of UAW Local 651 and attended Montrose United Methodist Church. Pete was a loving Christian man who could pray the most beautiful and sincere prayers. He loved his Lord and he loved his family.
Surviving are: Son, Jeffrey (Chris) Princing, Daughters, Julie Morrison and Kathy (Hal) Phillips; 9 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren and twin Great Grandchildren on the way; Sister, Janice Barnum, and numerous nieces and nephews.
