In Loving Memory of Rose Mary Dorrough
Rose Mary Dorrough, a cherished member of her family, peacefully departed on June 13, 2025. Her life exemplified love, kindness, and an enduring spirit of generosity.
Born on September 1, 1948, in Poplar Grove, Arkansas. Rose Mary was the fifth child of Willie and Jerelene Rice.
Rose Mary attended Dora E. Perkins Elementary School in Oneida, Arkansas, and completed her high school education at Lake View High School in Lake View, Arkansas. Known for her popularity, it was often said that appointments were needed to speak with her.
Rose Mary pursued higher education at AM & N College in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She later moved to Flint, Michigan, where she worked at Hurley Medical Center while earning a degree from Detroit College of Business. After over 29 years of dedicated service, she retired and settled in Burton, Michigan, to enjoy her leisure time.
Her family and friends will forever remember her quick wit and firm discipline. Rose Mary had a unique ability to make everyone feel special. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose children and grandchildren will cherish her memory and uphold her legacy of unconditional love.
Rose Mary leaves to cherish her memories: her daughter, Tracy Dorrough (Little Rock, AR); son Jameel Nadir (Candace), (Oak Point, TX); grandchildren Aireka Johnson, Da’Jhell Young (Torey), Kia Paschel, Keno Paschel, Kobe Paschel, Kamora Dorrough, Camden Nadir, and Cadence Nadir; and 14 great-grandchildren. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Siblings: Seven sisters, Earleatha Morgan (Oscar Jr), Pauline Moore, Louise Hathorn, Carol Mosby, Willene Wright (Thomas), Rita Rice, and Kathyrn Rice. Two brothers: Duane Rice and Leonard Rice. Five step siblings: Dorothy Davis, Melvin Howse, Denisho Howse, Bennie Howse, and Norman Howse.
Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Jerelene Rice, daughter Phyllis Dorrough, brothers Elmer Rice, Marshall Rice, and Walter Rice, and two grandsons, Kevin Paschel, Jr., and Raphel Dorrough.
Her resilience and strength were unparalleled, and her memory will continue to inspire and uplift those she leaves behind. As we bid farewell to Rose Mary, let us treasure the beautiful memories she created. She will be deeply missed, but lovingly remembered by all.
A funeral visitation for Rose will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM. |
