RUNYON, Mark Alan - Of Flint Township, age 62, loving father, husband, papa, brother, uncle and friend, gained his wings Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center with his family by his side.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor George Warson officiating.
Burial will take place at Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the National Kidney Foundation.
Visitation 11am-8pm Friday, September 9, 2022 and 10am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mark was born in Flint, Michigan on September 7, 1959, the son of the late Clell and Mary Runyon. He graduated from Southwestern High School, Class of 1979. On July 30, 1983, he married the love of his life, Judy Hisaw in Flint. Mark retired from General Motors Truck and Bus as a Supervisor after 31 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #594. He was an auxiliary member of VFW Chevrolet Post #3087. Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, painting and building, working on cars, watching TV, especially wrestling and westerns. Above all else, Mark enjoyed spending time with his family and his dogs, Suzie ‘Q, Zoe and Eevee.
Surviving are wife, Judy;
Children, Jerry Runyon of Flint Twp., Dustin (Carrie) Runyon of Montrose, Ryan (Shana) Runyon of Flint Twp. and Sean Runyon of Flint Twp.;
Grandchildren, Ethan, Arriana, Joscelynn, Payt’Ann, Brently, Jayce, Toby and Jaxon;
Sisters, Wanda Gibson, Sally Hnilica, Teresa(James) Kalisz, Doris Runyon;
Brother, Darrel (Juanita) Runyon;
Sisters-in-law, Bonnie O’Neil, Elizabeth Hisaw, Robin Hisaw;
And several nieces, nephews and many special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, Mike Crittenden, brothers, Little Johnny Runyon, William Runyon, sisters, Sharon Runyon, Susie (Ronnie) Mangus; in-laws, Ralph and Pauline Hisaw, brothers-in-law, Leonard Hisaw, Jim Hisaw and Bill O’Neil.
A special thank you to the staff of Hurley Medical Center 4th Floor Cardiac ICU and Regency of Grand Blanc Rehab for all their compassionate care.
