BEAVIS, Adrienne - Of Grand Blanc, age 84, died Wednesday, January 28, 2015.
Funeral service will be held 4pm Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Father Gary Koenigsknecht officiating.
Burial at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, 1pm Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
Visitation 12-7pm Friday at the funeral home.
Adrienne was born in Detroit on August 15, 1930, the daughter of Genevieve and Ed Gora, and has resided in Grand Blanc since 1972. She married her grade school sweetheart, Robert Beavis, on October 8, 1949, and they remained together until the time of his death in May, 2013. Adrienne was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served as President of the Grande Club.
Adrienne was a devoted wife and mother of two. Her passion was taking care of her family and home, always putting her family's needs before her own. She enjoyed sewing and knitting and will always be remembered for her famous chocolate chip cookies. Adrienne created many wonderful memories not only for her daughters, but for her grandchildren by being the best "Bubby" in the world.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Lynn Coppel, daughter Kimberly and husband Terry Sly, grandson Cory and wife Rachel McDonald, granddaughter Kelsey and husband Dan Laird, great-grandchildren Cecilia and Patrick McDonald and Callie and Gracie Laird, sister Beverly and husband Norm Beitler of Phoenix, Arizona, and nephews Paul and David Beitler of Arizona.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at Clare Bridge and The Medical Team Hospice for their compassionate care.
