Eunice (Stone, Bloss, McAlpine) Wager passed away peacefully at age 96 on December 4, 2024, at Union Court Assisted Living in Chesaning, Michigan. A well-blessed, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Eunice was born in Flushing, Michigan and was the loving daughter of Harold and Faye (Wager) Stone.
Eunice graduated from Flushing High School in 1946. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for many years before retiring in 1985 from McLaren General Hospital, Flint, Michigan. Eunice was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Chesaning, the Chesaning Lioness Club (now defunct) and Chesaning Area Historical Society where she served as a docent for several years. Dear to her heart was the Flushing High School “Girls Club” which began in high school and met monthly for over 70 years.
Besides spending time with her family and a myriad of friends, Eunice enjoyed dancing, cooking, reading, doing Diamond Dots, Facebook and using her various electronic devices.
Surviving Eunice are her children: Judith (William) Winter, Joan (Paul) Morgan, and Douglas (Karen) Bloss; five grandchildren: T.J. (Heather) Winter, Jeffrey (Kristin) Morgan, Joshua (Kaylee) Morgan, Emily (Kevin) DeLeon and Natalie Bloss (fiancé Wesley Chen); great-grandchildren: Thaddeus “Tiger” Winter, Riley Winter, Matias DeLeon and Evelyn Morgan. Eunice was anticipating the birth of her fifth great-grandchild in February 2025.
Also surviving are stepchildren: Dennis (Colleen) McAlpine, Jeniene Coffin, Gary Wager, and Linda Bianchi as well as several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were husbands, Wayne Bloss, James McAlpine, and Clifford Wager. In addition, she was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred Stone; sisters, Maxine Todd and Patricia Ruddy; sister-in-law, Donna Stone; brothers-in-law, Leon Todd and Robert Rudd; and nephew, David Todd.
Cremation has taken place and Eunice’s ashes will be buried in Flushing Cemetery.
A memorial service will be held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Chesaning at a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Union Court Activity Fund, Chesaning Public Library, or Chesaning Area Historical Society.
