HARRIS, George Giles – of Flint, age 76, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at McLaren-Flint. The family will welcome visitors from 12-7 PM on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the visitation. Burial of cremated remains with military honors will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
George was born in Flint on December 8, 1949, son of the late Claire and Hilda (Phillips) Bowser. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army in Germany during Vietnam. George married Joyce (Eschenweck) Evans on March 26, 1986. George retired from GM after 38 years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking and NASCAR races. He was always on the go, with his faithful companion, Chelsea.
George is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Harris; children, Kassie Harris, Aron (Amy) Harris, Karrie Hamilton, Chad (Joanne) Hamilton, Jay (Nikki) Evans; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Bill (Yvonne) Harris, Maggie Miller, Joyce (Doug) Bowser, and Larry Bowser; special friend, Phil Faulkerson and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Albert Harris; mother, Hilda Bowser, stepfather, Claire Bowser; sister-in-law, Shirley Brown; brother-in-law, Ron Eschenweck.
