SMITH, Jon Douglas - Age 74, of Gladwin, formerly of Fenton, passed away September 26, 2022. A memorial service will be held 3 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the time of service. Another gathering will also be held 12 PM Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Secord Lake Fraternal Order of Eagles, 3485 Lakeshore Dr., Gladwin. Those desiring may make contributions to Old Newsboys of Flint. Jon was born June 11, 1948 in Flint the son of Donald Lavern and Johan (Reed) Smith. He had lived in Fenton for many years. Following his retirement from General Motors he moved to Secord Lake in Gladwin, where he owned and operated Barge & Bobcat Services. He enjoyed riding his Harley and loved to spend time on the water. He is survived by his daughter, Roxane (John) Kaye and her mother, Kathleen Smith; granddaughters, Gracie and Julia Kaye; brothers, Jeff (Patti) Smith and James (Karen) Smith; sister, Jill Meek; nieces and nephews, Whitney (Kyle) Burnash, Reed Smith, Kolle Smith and Kyle Meek; many cousins, including Michael Szuch; special friend, Chanee Louchart and her grandchildren, Hope, Atiya and Mary Jennings.
