PANKEY, Robert “Bob” Lee – of Davison, MI, age 72, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on a later date.
Bob was born in Flint, MI on February 11, 1948, son of the late Robert and Betty (Cook) Pankey. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Bob married Esther Ijames on August 24, 1985 and she preceded him in death on August 12, 2015. He retired from General Motors Buick in 2009 after 42 years of service. Bob enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending all of their soccer games. He also loved camping, traveling and he was a master at voiding warranties.
Bob is survived by 2 children, Monique Aftimos of Lapeer, MI and Christina (Anthony) Sexstella of North Carolina; 5 grandchildren, George Aftimos, Brady Aftimos, Ramzi Aftimos and Jalen Aftimos all of Lapeer, MI and Michael (Nikka) Sexstella of North Carolina; great-grandson, Viktor Sexstella of North Carolina; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Pankey; parents-in-law, Brady and Lottie Ijames; wife, Esther Pankey and son-in-law, Dr. Antoun Aftimos.
The family would like to extend a very sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Suncrest in Lapeer, MI for their compassionate and professional care of Bob.
