Daniel "Dan" Cummings, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on July 29, 2023. V
Visitation will be held at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road in Flint, on Thursday, August 3, 2023 from 12pm-2pm, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Visitation for immediate family from 11am-12pm.
Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring, may make a donation to the National MS Society.
Dan was born on March 21, 1951, in Flint, the son of Eugene and Barbara (Bailey) Cummings. He was a 1969 graduate of Hamady High School where he played basketball, football, and ran track. He enjoyed fishing, camping in his Airstream, spending time at the family cottage at Houghton Lake, bowling, golfing, listening to loud music especially rock and roll, working on computers, and restoring and riding his classic Norton motorcycle.
Dan worked in and retired from the paint department at GM Truck & Bus in Flint after over 30 years of service. He married his wife and best friend, Angie, in 2001.
He is survived by his wife Angie; parents, Eugene & Barbara Cummings; daughter, Sara (Greg) Edwards; son, Kalin Gaines; daughter, Hailey Montague; sister, Gayle Cummings; sister, Jill (Doug) Stacey, former wife and Sara's mother, Laura Cummings; along with various special cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
