Simpson, James W. Of Flushing, age 68, died Monday, December 27, 2021, at Concerned Country Care in Montrose. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on January 21st. Please contact the family if you wish to attend.

James was born in Flint, Michigan on May 2, 1953, the son of Charles and Avis (Hughlett) Simpson. He worked at GM Truck and Bus for 25 years. Jim was passionate about many things, was known for his sense of humor, kindness and always speaking his mind.

He met Rikki Sebastian, the love of his life, at King Arthur's Pasties. They had two children (Jason, Tim) and raised them in Flushing. Although Rikki and Jim separated, their relationship was close until he passed.

Jim was passionate about many things in his life including, golf, billiards, hockey, pottery, stained glass, making jewelry, reading about politics, helping presidential campaigns, and supporting the University of Michigan.

Jim was a part of the 2.3 Million Americans who suffered from Bi-Polar disorder, a mental illness that is still largely misunderstood and underfunded. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you express your condolences as donations to the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation.

James is survived by his sons, Jason (Ann) Simpson, Timothy (Brooke) Simpson; grandchildren, Jackson and Emma Simpson; ex-wife, Rikki Simpson; siblings, Janet (Charles) Riley, Dale (Ruth) Simpson, Jerry (Janet) Simpson, Darlene Simpson, Brenda (Brian) Tanner, Vic Simpson, Marryann (George) Mansfield; many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles (Norma) Simpson, Avis (Russ) Annibal; brothers, Charles, Chet, Paul, Michael, and Richard Simpson; sister, Donna Stewart.
