HENRY, Earl Ernest - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, December 20, 2021. Funeral services will be held 12PM Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. The family requests that everyone wear a mask that attends. (A live stream of the service will be available on Earl's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Reverend Jerry Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris. Visitation will be held 4PM - 8PM Wednesday December 22, 2021 and 10AM until time of service on Thursday, December 23, 2021. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Eastern Michigan Food Bank. Earl was born June 6, 1942 in Flint, the son of John Harold and Ethel (Smedley) Henry. He married Sharron Powell in Flint on February 2, 1963. Earl retired from General Motors Buick Division with 30 years of service. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, making fudge, attending church, bowling, coin collecting, and putting together jigsaw puzzles. Surviving are: wife of 58 years, Sharron Henry of Swartz Creek; children, Richard (Christine) Henry of Sterling Heights, John (Audrey) Henry of Flint, Karen (Tim) Houchlei of Mason; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and one on the way. Earl is also survived by his brothers, Thomas Groombridge of Oscoda, James Groombridge of Flint and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ethel Henry; brother, John Henry; sister-in-laws, Sue Groombridge and Jane Groombridge. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
