Patrick L. Cooper age 68 of Durand, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020 at McLaren-Flint Hospital. Family will receive friends on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 4-8 PM at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.
Patrick Lindsey Cooper was born March 3, 1952 in Owosso, a son of James and Iola (Ellsworth) Cooper. On May 7, 1983 he married Diane Mata. Patrick was a past President of the Pheasants Forever and was one of the first ones to help get it started. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and college basketball. Prior to his retirement in 2017, he had been employed by Thyssen Krupp for 27 years.
Patrick is survived by his wife, Diane Cooper; daughters, Angela Cooper and Kayla (John) Winkler; sisters, Josephine Davis, Penny Libby and April Cooper; mother-in-law, Colleen Mata; brother-in-laws, Dan (Brenda) Mata and Dale Mata; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Mike Kennedy and Ed and Judy Nolph. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Iola Cooper; brothers, Dave (Connie) Cooper and Mike Cooper; sister, Lana Ashford; father-in-law, Juan Mata; and brother-in-law, Johnny Davis.
