NOWLAND, Richard George, Sr. – of Mount Morris, MI, age 83, passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022. A Funeral Service, with Military Honors, will be held 4 PM Friday, December 16, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Chaplain Fred Green officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM Friday, December 16, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the U.S. Marine Corps. League Flint Detachment #155, in Richard’s memory.
Richard was born in Flint, MI on September 8, 1939, son of the late Guy and Natalie (Tkaczyk) Nowland. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1956-1962 and was a proud lifetime member of the U.S. Marine Corps. League Flint Detachment #155. He married Mary Fish on June 8, 1962. Richard retired from Teamsters Local #332 after more than 30 years of service.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Mary Nowland; 4 children, Kathy (Jim) Alloway, Kim Frost, Tracie (Les) Hilder and Rick (Kerry) Nowland; 10 grandchildren, Kevin, Jason, Randy, Ryan, Denise, Christina, Amber, Jamee, Nick and Brandi; several great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Natalie Nowland and grandson, Aaron Kubica.
