WILLISTON JARBEAU (THORP), PATRICIA IRENE “PAT”
Of Chicago, IL, age 74, died Sunday, May 28, 2023 with Lindsey and Armi by her side.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI 48507, Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 12:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Planned Parenthood of Michigan or the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Pat was born in Flint on November 24, 1948 and was the only child of Jack and Maxine (Clymer) Thorp. She was a resident of the Flint area until 2022. Pat graduated from Bentley High School, Class of 1966, and received an Associates’ Degree from Mott Community College.
After graduation she worked for Citizens Insurance and then on to Citizens Bank, moving on to GM SPO which later transitioned to EDS, and retired from Kettering University. She excelled at being creative, crafty pursuits, and spent countless hours card making, scrapbooking, and with numerous other artistic hobbies. She enjoyed a good ‘hamburg’, followed the British Royal Family saga, and loved to be with people and on the go. In 2018 she and Lindsey cruised to Alaska and then in 2019 down the Rhine River in Germany with the Jimenez Family. As a new resident of Chicago, she was looking forward to the many art and street fairs this summer.
Surviving are daughter, Lindsey Williston (Armi Betz) of Chicago, IL; Cousins Bonnie (Ron) Lakies and Tammy (Scott) Gray of Gaines, Paula Bye of Lawton, Jim Bye of Flint, Joel (Dawn) Bye of Swartz Creek; Family Jazmine (Kevin) Bazarek-Betz of Seattle, WA, and Mariah Betz of Chicago, IL; and long-time friends Marti Donnelly and Natala Harvey both of Flushing, and Sue Blondin and Lynn Allen both of Grand Blanc. Her heart was never complete without a “little dog”, so she will also be missed by her fur babies, Charlie and Jake. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Maxine, aunts Yvonne Bye and Judy Miller, cousin Jeff Bye, and buddies Yolanda Juarez Naismith and Julia Oginsky.
