Woods, Barbara L. (Fate), age 67, of White Lake, formerly of Flushing, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at Huron Valley Hospital. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral services. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Barb was born in Flint, Michigan on March 19, 1954, the oldest of seven children to Robert and Patricia (Streng) Fate. She married Dave Woods on May 8, 2008. Barb was a graduate of Flushing High School, Class of 1972. She worked for 28 years as a Personal Banker. Barb was a fan of all sports, especially those involving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed anything to do with cars, such as classic car shows, cruises and Nascar. She loved spending time on the water, specifically Higgins Lake and Lake Michigan. Barb enjoyed baking and believed ice cream should be a dinner option. Spending time with her family was truly her greatest joy.
Barb is survived by her husband, Dave; daughter, Nicole and husband Anthony Piazza; step-daughters, Lori Woods and husband Paul Greyerbihl, Dana and husband Brad Swartz; grandchildren, Gianna, Ava, Mike and wife Kristen, Matisse, Zaine; great-grandchildren, Lucas, Jacob, Kelly; siblings, Joe and wife Jan Fate, Karen and husband Dave White, Mike Fate, Jeanette and husband Dave Morrish, Teresa and husband Steve Fedosh, Bari and husband Chris Pfeiffer; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and niece, Angie Fate.
