PENNINGTON, James – Of Burton, age 85, died Monday, January 3, 2022 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Toby Hubbard officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 12 p.m. – 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
James was born in Elgood, West Virginia on July 26, 1936.
Mr. Pennington worked for GM for 38 years.
He was a member of Great Lakes Baptist Temple for over 60 years.
He loved fast pitch softball, bowling, running his dogs and hunting.
Surviving are loving wife, Evelyn Pennington, of 63 years of marriage; sons, Allen (Teresa) Pennington and Traian Lupu; daughter, Teresa Gifford; granddaughters, Trisha (James) Miner and Teesha (Frank) Linseman; grandson, T.J. Lupu; great-grandchildren, Camron Collier, Laila Lupu, Kaprice Miner, Jayla Miner, Aiden McGlinchey, Lacey Lupu and Arya Linseman; a lot of nieces, nephews and special friend, Michael Terry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferrel and Birdie Pennington; daughter, Deborah Lupu; brothers, Jerry and Jack Pennington; sister, Eloise Gramham and many friends.
