Lewis, Michael D., of Palmetto, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 9, 2014 from a long term illness at age 62 with his loving sister Debra at his side. A U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran, Mike leaves behind a loving family, parents, Daniel and Marian Lewis of Mission, TX., sisters, Denise Barton (Ned) of Mission, TX., Debra Iben of Palmetto, FL., and Kathy Burgess (Robert) of Fenton, MI.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as many long term friends from across the country. Mike was a gentle soul who walked to the beat of his own drum. He was always upbeat and had a passioin for driving, first as a supply line truck driver in Vietnam, then as a semi-truck driver and finally as a big-rig tow truck driver in Florida. Mike will be cremated and his remains will be placed in the columbarium wall at the Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI. A memorial service will take place on June 22, 2014 at 2PM at the Columbarium Wall B Pavilion. |
