STALEY, Marye E. – Of Flint, age 99, went to her Lord on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
Those desiring may make contributions in Marye’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Marye was born in St. Clair, Michigan on July 2, 1923, the daughter of the late Cecil and Meryl (Darling) Coyner. She married Jacob Staley on December 14, 1942 in Flint. Mrs. Staley was a resident of the Flint area all of her life. Marye was a faithful member of Bristol United Methodist Church, the Flint Bishops Sewing Council and a special Home EC group. She taught sewing and quilting at Mott and Carman-Ainsworth Adult Education for 25 years.
Surviving are
4 children, Jacob and wife Judi Staley, Thomas Staley, Susan and husband Brice Merrow, Daniel and wife Mary Staley;
11 grandchildren, Jerald, Jacob, Lisa, Kelly, AnneMarie, Andrew, Hunter, Ginger, Jeff, Leigh and Maghan;
7 great-grandchildren; Colton, Dominic, Cooper, Nora, Zoey, Harper and Ella;
brother, Joe and wife Alice Coyner;
several special nieces, nephews and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Staley; son, Jerald Staley; sister, Hazel (Walter) Francis and daughter-in-law, Sherrie Staley.
