CLARK, Gerald Michael -- Age 85, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, April 25, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11AM Saturday, May 3 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road , Swartz Creek. Fr. Louise Ekka Celebrant. Interment at St Mary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 - 8 PM Friday May 2 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, where a K of C Rosary will be prayed at 7PM on Friday. And visitation will begin again at 10AM Saturday May 3 until the time of Mass at 11 AM. Those desiring may make contributions to St Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church.
Gerald was born July 20, 1939 in Flint, the son of Kenneth C. and Evelyn M. (Bedore) Clark. He graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1957. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard, and a member of the AMVETS Post 3720. He married Eunice on September 25, 1999; she preceded him in death on September 29, 2016. Jerry worked for Abbott Meats for many years. He then went on and was crucial in helping his son start his Restoration and Storage Business, where he worked a manager until 2024.
As a sports enthusiast and loving father, Jerry coached his children at St. Mary's in many sports. He loved to watch the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, and was a faithful fan of Notre Dame Football. Jerry was a longstanding member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Swartz Creek and a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Jerry’s faith shined throughout his life, evident to anyone who met him. It was especially visible in his endless love for his children and in the standards he set as a father. His children were his world. He had a deep love for Mary and prayed to her daily. He exuded a tender, generous, caring love to everyone that knew him. Witnessing God’s beauty through nature, Jerry took great care in yard work and gardening. At any holiday you could find him sitting at the table playing Euchre with his family
He is survived by his four children, Gerald Todd Clark, Kelly Bruzewski, David Clark (Cathleen Clark), Jeffrey Clark; grandchildren, Michael Clark, Sydney Clark, Jay Bruzewski, Olivia Bruzewski, Matthew Bruzewski, Gabrielle Clark, David Clark, Alexander Clark; former wife and mother of his children, Carolyn "Sue" Clark-Helms; sister Sherry Almassy, 2 nephews, Norman Fisher and Aaron Almassy; Eunice Lokken Clark Family Tammy, Brad Kristen, and Brandon; dear friend Julia Lanoue.
He was preceded in death by wife, Eunice and his parents.
