DARBY, Michael – of Davison, MI, age 64, passed away Monday, June 12, 2023, at Ascension Genesys Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Monday, June 19, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Fr. Carl Simon officiating. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of the service on Monday, June 19, 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to West Point Association of Graduates, in Michael’s memory.
Michael was born in Flint, MI on March 8, 1959, son of Richard and Nancy (Cameron) Darby. He graduated from Luke M. Powers High School in 1977 and University of Michigan-Flint in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. Michael then graduated from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1985. After obtaining his law degree, Michael worked in the banking industry as a trust officer and attorney for various companies for over 30 years. Before retiring in 2021, Michael worked in the Legal Department for Huntington Bank as Associate General Counsel and Vice President. He married Susan Graves on November 4, 1989. He will be remembered for his intelligence, unique sense of humor and love for his family, friends and dogs.
Michael is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Captain Alison Darby; brother, Robert (Sharon) Darby; sisters, Ann (Dan Gilbert) Darby and Mary (Kevin) Hardenburg; nieces and nephews; and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Nancy Darby; and nephew, Brian Hardenburg.
