HAWKE, Wayne Arthur – of Birch Run, age 78, died Thursday, July 29, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 3PM Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Darrel Manning officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of service at 3PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Wayne was born August 13, 1942, in Rogersville, Michigan to the late Edward and Florence Hawke. Wayne served in the US Navy from 1961 until 1965. He soon married Marian (Counterman) Hawke on August 2, 1969, in Flint, Michigan, Marian preceded him in death on March 8, 2019. He attended Court Street Church of God and most recently, Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio and was a lifelong member of the NRA. Wayne was a sociable and outgoing guy, everyone liked him. He was always there to lend a helping hand, go for a walk or enjoy conversation. Wayne enjoyed hunting, gardening, cutting wood and traveling. He also enjoyed daily walks with his neighbor Tom, and Sunday fellowship and breakfast.
Left to cherish his memory are: Siblings: Dick (Janet) Hawke, Juanita Ferris, and Hazel Wilson; Several nieces and nephews; Special friend, Nancy; Close friends and neighbors; Tom, Tom Jr., Tony, Kirk, and Ann; Good friend, Tammy, Several friends from Tops, as well as many others. He was preceded in death by Parents: Edward and Florence (Thayer) Hawke, and Brothers: Edward jr. and Floyd.
