SMITH, Dolores May (Inglot) – of Flint, MI, formerly of West Branch, MI, age 88, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 PM Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 12-1 PM Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in Dolores’s memory.
Dolores was born in Flint, MI on April 16, 1935, daughter of the late Joseph and Joanna (Walijewski) Inglot. She was a graduate of St. Mary Catholic High School in Flint, MI. Dolores’s work in the medical field was a testament to her dedication to helping others. She had a heart that knew no bounds, and her love for people was evident to everyone who knew her. Dolores had an innate ability to connect with others, making friends wherever she went. Her warm and welcoming nature made her a cherished figure in the lives of many. In her free time, Dolores found solace and joy in gardening and sewing. Her green thumb transformed her garden into a colorful paradise, and her skillful hands created beautiful pieces of art through her sewing projects. Dolores was a woman of faith and a devoted member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she found strength and solace in her spiritual community. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Dolores is survived by 4 children, Kathryn Dolan, Sandra (David) Josling, David Smith and Lori Miller; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Rosemary Slobodian; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Joanna Inglot; 2 husbands, David Smith and Otis Matteson; son, Joseph Smith; 3 siblings, Joseph “Sonny” Inglot, Arlene Manzardo and Lucille “Cookie” Beauchamp.
