Karin (Lutz) Diegel, age 84, of Swartz Creek passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Dryer Funeral Home, Holly. Karin was born on September 25, 1938, to Karl and Hilda Lutz in Karlsrue, Durlach, Germany. She came to the United States in 1958; receiving her U.S. citizenship in 1967. She is survived by 4 children, Debora D. (William) Ogle, Brigitta J. (Steve) Brannon, Patricia A. Fidei, Robert K. (Diane) Gale, preceded in death by son, James L. (Robin) Gale. Karin is survived by 15 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 3 siblings; brother Edgar K. (Inge) Lutz of Karlsruhe, Germany; devoted sisters Inge (Charlie) Skinner and Doris (Lawrence) Takayama. She met her beloved husband Don in 1982 while employed as a nurse’s aide at a local nursing facility while he was visiting a patient. She is also survived by Don’s daughter Tamara A. (Dave) Miller and granddaughter Amanda; and Don’s son, Marc L. (Terri) Diegel. Karin’s passion in life was caring for others as well as her love for animals. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Michigan Humane Society in honor of Karin’s exceptional love for animals. |
