STEPHEN, Georgia Irene. – of Montrose, age 90, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Concerned Country Care. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Pastor Dan Shinabarger officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home Tuesday from 3-8PM and Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to New Covenant Church.
Georgia was born on August 10, 1924 in Virginia, Illinois to the late Floyd and Mary (Warner) Armstrong. She married Forrest W. Stephen June 25, 1948 in Virginia, Illinois. He preceded her in death May 30, 1996. She was a past member of St. Martin Lutheran Church in Birch Run and currently attended New Covenant Church in Clio. During retirement, Georgia and Forrest became Master Gardener's and enjoyed attending square dancing classes. Georgia was very active with the Clio Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. Above all, Georgia loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Rodney (Charlene) Stephen of Rogersville, TN, Mary Ann (Duane) Wiebeck of Springfield, OH and Kathy (James) Goodhew of Montrose; 7 grandchildren: Lisa, Scott, Jaimee, Melanie, Tyler, Noelle and Stephen; 6 great-grandchildren: Matt, Alek, Felicia, Jordan, Kristopher and Caden; Sisters: Vivian Miller and Dorothy Miller. Georgia was preceded in death by her son, David Stephen June 26, 2011; Granddaughter, Christine Stephen May 4, 1993 and brother, Gene Armstrong.
