ISBELL, Dorothy M. - Age 92, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Lapeer County Medical Care Facility.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 4-8pm Friday and 12Noon Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan on December 26, 1932, the daughter of the late Elmer and Ruby (Austin) Dunning. On June 19, 1954, she married Douglas Isbell in Flushing, Michigan and he preceded her in death on September 22, 2010. Once a month she would go to the Flint YMCA with her friends and have lunch or breakfast with them. Dorothy was on a bowling league and also enjoyed aerobics, cooking, baking, reading, crocheting and making beautiful lace doilies.
Surviving are son, Jack M. Horton of Flint;
daughter, Vicki and husband William Ross of Flint;
granddaughter, Christina (Tyler);
grandsons, Billy (Jennifer), Collin, Jaxson, and Carter;
great-granddaughter, Avery;
sister-in-law, Bonnie Dunning;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Douglas, son, Dougie, Jr., and brothers, Eugene, John and Donald Dunning.
