BERRY, L. Elizabeth – Of Grand Blanc, age 96, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc, 6106 South Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc, Dr. Darrell Foltz officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc Building Fund.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home by the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Berry will be at the church from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.
Mrs. Berry was born in Stone County, Missouri on February 10, 1916,
the daughter of William and Lydia Geren.
She married Culley Berry on June 17, 1939.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Grand Blanc and a life member of Grand Blanc Chapter No. 507 O.E.S.
Mrs. Berry was employed by the Grand Blanc School District at Anderson Elementary School, as a library clerk, for 20 years, retiring in 1977.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons, David and wife Connie of California,
Joe of Davison,
William and wife Linda of Lapeer;
6 grandchildren, Mark (Tiffany), Christopher (Stephanie), Chad, Stuart (Tanisha), Joel (Kristina) and Megan;
7 great-grandchildren;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Culley, on August 17, 2012; parents and four sisters.
