OSMON, MATTIE NELL – Of Burton, age 90, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 surrounded by her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with Pastor Nathan Brown officiating.
A private burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Friday, January 26, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation will also be from 10:00am on Saturday at the church until the time of the service.
Nell was born in Lake City, Arkansas on October 6, 1933, the daughter of the late Boss and Eva (Brown) Vaughn and was a resident of Burton since 1955. She married the love of her life, Lawrence Osmon on June 2, 1951 in Marked Tree, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on December 18, 2004.
Nell was a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. Above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are 5 children, Danny and wife Sherry Osmon, Marcia and husband Vaughn Randall, Dennis and wife Beth Osmon, Debbie and husband Greg Jones,
Lisa and husband Robert Long;
grandchildren, Ryan (Amanda), Matthew (Nicole), Joshua (Ondria), Jill, Jami, Jacob (Megan), Caleb (Erin), Andrew (Laura), Erika (Brian) and Isaac;
great-grandchildren, Jaden, Liam, Nia, Eli, Brycen, Ada, Rhoen, Addilynn, Arletta, Maxwell, Greylan, Mattie, Finn, Larkin and Maverick;
and a host of nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
Nell was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Cornerstone Baptist Church.
