Mr. Roosevelt Hampton, Jr., 75, of Toledo, OH, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Maumee OH. Mr. Hampton came to Toledo in 1959 and worked for Daimler Chrysler Corporation in the paint shop more than 20 years, retiring in 2000. He was a long time devoted and proud member of the Jerusalem MB Church, serving on the #1 Usher Board, Male Chorus and the Mass Choir. He leaves to cherish his memory his significant lady and best friend, Betty Davis; sons, Roosevelt (Janice) III, Carl Lee (Jonell) and Dewayne both of Rancho Cucamonga, CA, Tracy Earl of Toledo, Tyrone of Southfield MI and Timothy Hampton of Toledo; daughter, Ester Lee Johnson of Waukegan, IL.; 13 grand and 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charlie of Memphis, TN, James Lee of Milwaukee, WI and Larry Hampton of Toledo; sister; Chennell (Richard) Levesque; special son: Anthony Davis; stepmother, Martha Beckett; special aunt, Dorsey Loveless and a host of other loving relatives and kind friends. Visitation Monday 4-7 p.m. at the church, 445 Dorr Street., tributes begin at 6:00 p.m. where Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. with Family Hour preceding at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. Dr. W. L. Perryman, Jr., Officiant.
