Douglas Carley Marsh, of National City, formerly of Flint, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer at his home on Thursday, January 23, 2025, age 82 years, under the loving care of his family and hospice. Doug was born on May 27, 1942, in Flint to the late Floyd and Marie (Carley) Marsh. He graduated from Dye High School, and then proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962, which also included a tour in Germany. He retired from Buick, after a long career, as a Machine Repairman, and a proud member of the UAW Skilled Trades. Doug enjoyed golfing, fishing, water skiing, and spending time on the lake. Doug is survived by his beloved wife, Terrie Marsh; daughters, Judith (Scott) Thomas, Lynda Marsh; stepson, Andrew Lahde; granddaughters, Tori (Zach) Morgan and Julia Lahde; great granddaughters, Luci Morgan, and Maya Jane; great grandson, Benjamin Morgan his faithful companion dog, Max; and many dear friends. Doug is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Marie Marsh, and great grandson, Travis Brandon. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service with military honors is scheduled for Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Buresh Funeral Home in Tawas City. Doug's family will welcome friends for a period of visitation before the funeral on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral. |
