MOORE, Edward D. – of Clio formerly of Flint Twp., age 96, passed away peacefully, Sunday January 10, 2021, at his daughter’s residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 14, 2021 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint, MI, 48532. Fr. Anthony Strouse officiating. Burial will be at New Calvary Catholic Church, Flint. Family will receive friends at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 3-7:30 PM. Due to Covid 19 and government regulations, only 25 people are allowed in our chapel at one time and masks are required. Thank you for your understanding. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Edward’s name may be made to the charity of your choice or if you do not have one the Clio Center for the Arts.

Edward was born January 29, 1924 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Edward and Rhea (Martin) Moore. He grew up in the Burton area and graduated from Bendle High School in 1941. After high school he joined the military and served his country proudly during WW II in the United States Army Air Corps. On October 2, 1948 he married the love of his life, the former Esther Juanita Ware at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Burton, sadly she preceded him in death on December 10, 2010. Edward worked in machine repair for General Motors in Flint at Plant 12, he retired with over 30 years of faithful service. He attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and was a founding member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Flint where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the St. Joseph Guild and the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, Edward enjoyed golfing with his league at the Swartz Creek Golf Course. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his younger years he enjoyed playing sports at Bendle High School. He also loved working in in his garden, he was a farmer at heart, having fond memories as a child bicycling up to Linwood in the summer during school break to work on the family farm.

Surviving are: Children: Janice Warner of Clio, Mary (Jim) Nicolai of Charleston, SC, Robert Moore of Flint, Diane Provost of Montrose and Michael (Maggie Lynd) Moore of Novi; Grandchildren: John (Amy), Jennifer (Rick), Tony, Kimberly, Gregory (Shelly), Kathryn (Jacqui), Becky (Charles), Kathy, Nick (Nikki), Sarah (Brian), Erin (Tommy), Kristine and Keri (Brian; 22 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great Great Grandchildren; Sister In Law: Mary Moore, along with several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his Wife: Juanita; Brothers: Harold “Boots” Moore and Kenneth Moore; Sister: Gloria Moore and Son In Law Dennis Provost.
