Carol J. Ostrander of Chesaning passed away Friday, December 17, 2021 at Maple Woods Manor of Clio.
Carol was born in Chesaning on June 20, 1932, a daughter of Ernest, Sr. “Pete” and Lela “Delores” Van Wagner. Carol was a lifelong resident of Chesaning, where she enjoyed playing cards, music and dancing back in the day. Shopping was also one of her favorites.
Surviving are her daughters, Dawn (Nick) Wendling of Montrose and Cathy Ferguson of Beaverton, Oregon, and a daughter-in-law, Ivette Hobson of Kodiak Island, Alaska. Grandchildren are Melissa Ostrander of New Lothrop, Erica Hobson Ivy of Alaska, Ian Hobson of Alaska, Camille Hobson of Oregon, and Quentin Asplund of Florida. Carol had one great-grandson, Evan Ostrander, that truly brought so much joy to her life. Her siblings are Beverly Newell of Chesaning, Judy Hoover of Saginaw, and Don and Goldie VanWagner of Henderson; and several nieces, nephews and others she held close to her heart. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; both sons, John and David Hobson; great granddaughter, Abaigail Ostrander; three brothers, Bus, Stan and EJ; and four sisters, Helen, Joyce, Shirley and Doreen.
Carol has been cremated per her wishes. A memorial service is to be held at later date. Charitable donations given in memory of Carol can be given to the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
