Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, Michael Leonard Brunson, age 72, passed away peacefully at home on the 7th of November with his wife and daughters by his side.
Michael, a longtime resident of Fenton was in the graduating class of 1968. There he met his future wife, Susan Crosby. Throughout the next 49 years they would share countless adventures in travel.
After serving in the United States Navy, he began a job at CSX Railroad. Forty-three years later he retired from what he often claimed to be “The longest summer job he’d ever have”.
Vintage Volkswagens and Harley Davidsons were just a few of his many passions. He also enjoyed beekeeping, cooking, and spending time in the outdoors at the Hersey property, his home away from home. Sailing was an enjoyable pass time. From the small waters of Tipsico to the Great Lakes, the Mackinac races were a highlight of his life.
Michael is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters, Anna and Sarah Brunson; grandchildren, Suzie, Ayden, Addison, Crosby and Ivy, as well as many dear family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Claude, Frenchie, and Jeff Brunson.
Michael cherished his lifelong friendships, to whom he considered to be like family. These relationships were rich in loyalty, laughter and love. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, wisdom, and generous loving personality.
A memorial celebrating Michael’s life will be held at the VanGilder room in the Fenton Community Center on Saturday, November 19th from 1 - 4 O’clock in the afternoon. |
