Charles "Chuck" Gach, age 75, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022 after battling with serious medical issues for four months.
He met the love of his life, JoAnn Dean, in 1974 and they were married for 47 years and raised four children together: Richard Dean, Dawn Gach, Anthony Gach, and Cheryl Gach-Heeke. Chuck proudly served his country with the US Navy during Vietnam. He continued his service with Commanding the Flushing VFW Post 5666 three times and being the All State Commander.
Chuck was a Journeyman Pipefitter and retired from Buick after 41 years of service. He was a hard working, patriotic, honorable, good hearted, loving and giving man.... who exemplified good work ethic and showed how to be a great husband and father. He was a selfless man who loved his wife and children, but above all else, he loved his country.
Chuck and JoAnn loved to deer hunt and spend time at their beautiful cabin in the woods. He had a love affair with peanut butter...... and his sister-in-law Marilyn Gonyea's peanut butter cookies were unmatched.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Joann; children: Dawn Gach, Cheryl Gach-Heeke, daughter-in-law Anna Dean; grandchildren: Megan (Kenneth) McNally, Ryan Dean, Seth Dean, Christopher Dean, Craig Dean, Samuel Dean, Tyler Dean, Olivia Gach, Robert Heeke, Hunter Heeke, and Katelynn Heeke; great-grandchildren: Alex (Brittney) McNally, Melanie McNally, Riley Flaningam, and twins, Annaleigh and Ezekiel Dean; sisters, Frances Gach and Marge (James) VanDorne; brother, Louis (Janice) Gach; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Gach and Mary Olesak Gach; sons: Richard Dean, and Anthony Gach; and siblings: Daniel Gach, Marion Fearon, and Johanna Culinski.
The family will greet visitors from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc. Funeral services will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, 746 Saginaw St., Flint, Michigan. Military honors following. Visitation from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am at church. Inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
The family wishes to thank the hospital staff at the University of Michigan for their kindness and compassionate care of Chuck. Memorial contributions may be directed to First Presbyterian Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
