George “Rex” Stout, age 87, a long time Mayville resident, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born May 24, 1936 in Mayville, MI to the last Morton and Geraldine (Rice) Stout. Rex was a graduate of Mayville High School with the Class of 1955. He married Lillian Wnuk on October 26, 1957 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Rex retired from GM Truck and Bus. He was a member of the Mayville Eagles # 4099. He enjoyed playing ball, hunting and fishing.
Rex is survived by his children, Ronald (Bonnie) Stout, Rhonda Stout-Early (Terry) and Timothy Stout; brothers, Gerald Stout, Douglas (Mary Jo) Stout and Brian Stout; grandchildren, David, Jennifer and Janetta Stout, Ryan and Rachael Luther, and Clare Stout; and great grandchildren, Dominic, Reid and Anastasia Luther.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian in 2013; brothers, Thomas and
Phillip; and in-laws, Joseph and Stella Wnuk.
The family will receive visitors from 2-8 PM on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at Avram Funeral Home, and 10-11 AM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, March 1, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayville with Father Christopher officiating.
A private family burial will take place in North Grove Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Lilian and George Stout Trust.
