Karen Ann (McQueen) Betz, age 70, passed away at her home on Friday, July 25, 2025. Her funeral service will held at 1PM on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Mumford-Hudson Funeral Home, with Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors from 11AM until the time of her service on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to West Forest Methodist Church, 7297 E. Farrand Rd., Millington, MI 48746.
Karen was born in Flint, Michigan on August 20, 1954, the daughter of the late Vern and Marie (McLain) McQueen. Karen married Larry Betz, Sr. on January 13, 1978, along with her sister, Nancy and Dan Springsteen, as they held a double wedding, always celebrating their anniversaries together. Karen had 30 years of service at AC Delphi, retiring in 2003. She had several hobbies: quilting, crocheting, knitting, beading, traveling, and camping. Karen was a member of the West Forest Church, a card club, and the Millington quilt club. At West Forest Church, Karen started the Comfort Quilts and prayer cloths. Together they have made over 275 quilts. The church has since named this Karen’s Ministry to honor her memory. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Karen will be missed by all.
Karen is survived by her husband, Larry Sr.; children: Craig Betz and Larry Betz, Jr.; grandchildren: Caitlin (Alex) Bartsoff, Emily (T.J.) Ashby, Chris Betz and Justin Pickelman; great grandchildren: Waylon Bartsoff, Dilynn Ashby, and twins on the way; step-grandchildren: Kaylee Rodgers and Elizabeth Rodgers; great grandchildren: Cole and Charlotte; best friend and sister, Nancy (Dan) Springsteen; sister, Dorothy (Sam) Zinn; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Marie McQueen; daughter, Diana Bayley; and sisters: Helen Adkins, Barbara George, Margaret Davis, and Beverly Zinn. |
