HANNERS, Elaine – of Clio, age 81, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at McLaren Regional Medical Center of Flint. Funeral services will be held 1PM Monday, April 30, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Cindy Dewar officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Elaine was born June 5, 1936 in Greenbush, Michigan to the late George and Ruby (Stewart) Wissmiller. She married Charles Enoch Hanners on December 17, 1954. He preceded her in death April 6, 2000. Elaine was a very active member with Community of Christ Church in Clio (formerly The Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints) where she was involved in the choir, Vacation Bible School, and many other youth activities. She enjoyed crafting and sewing. Elaine loved babysitting and mentoring kids. She was a genuine peace keeper, and always put others before herself. Elaine will always be remembered for her pure heart of gold.
Surviving are: Daughters: Linda (Daniel) Monroe, Debbie Griffin, and Cheryl Leddick; Grandchildren: Christina (Christopher) Snider, Racheal “Shelly” (John) Tompkins, and Adam (Marilyn) Morgan; Great grandchildren: Austin Wilson, Sebastian Poe, Catherine Poe, Cody Tompkins-Graham, Breann Snider and Alyssa Snider; Many great-great grandchildren; Nieces and nephews; Siblings: Ruth (Arnold) Ward, and George (Ruth) Wissmiller; Brothers in law: Frederick Small and Kenneth Welsch; Sister in law, Marie Wissmiller. Many other loving family members, friends, and her church family. Elaine was also preceded in death by sisters: Sharon, Shirley, Jacqueline, and Phyllis; Brother, Melvin.
