APONTE, ARCIDE A. “LUIS” – Of Lapeer, formerly of Davison, age 73, died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Birch Run Township Cemetery in Birch Run.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
Visitation 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Arcide was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on April 13, 1949, the son of the late Salvador and Herminia Aponte.
On March 17, 1979 he married Beverly Henry.
He was a devoted husband who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, who he adored. He spent his time working outside and renovating his home.
Mr. Aponte was employed by GM for over 30 years.
Surviving are wife, Beverly;
granddaughter, Brandi Rowley and fiance’ Marcus Branscum;
grandson, Christopher Hickey;
4 great-grandchildren, Angel Hahn, Joshua Hahn, Scarlett Branscum and Elliemae Branscum;
5 siblings; many nieces, nephew and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his 3 children, Kay Smith, Paul Smith and Bryan Smith and brother, Salvador Aponte.
