WISE, Dennis K. – of Clio, age 75, died on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his home with family by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, with military honors. John Montney officiating. A private burial will be held in Thetford Twp. Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3PM until 7PM, and on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Sawn Hospice.
Dennis was born on October 18, 1949, in Flint, Michigan, to Robert and Dorothy (Finkbeiner) Wise. He graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1967 and later attended Michigan Technological University. Dennis served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he worked on Hawk Missiles in Korea and trained as an electrician. On November 14, 1970, Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Carol Owens, and together they raised three children, sharing many happy years until Carol’s passing on August 20, 2000. On October 20, 2001, he married Grace Hartman, who preceded him in death on July 2, 2012. Dennis retired as an electrician from General Motors in 2006 after 30 years of dedicated service and was a proud member of UAW Local #589 and the Clio Eagles Aerie #3609. A simple man at heart, Dennis had a love for tinkering with cars and electronics, often spending his time rebuilding and restoring them. He was passionate about collecting vintage cars and tractors and had a special fondness for animals, always taking in strays without hesitation.
Surviving are: Daughters: Andrea (Mark) Jozwiak, Valerie (Ron) Olsey, and Deanna Wise; Grandchildren: Owen Jozwiak, Gannon Olsey, and Brooklyn Olsey; Sister, Tammy (Mark) Borowitz; Brother in law, Jim Vandendries; Special friend, Avis. Dennis was also preceded in death by: Father, Robert Wise; Parents: Jack and Dorothy Kotlark; Sister, Debbie Vandendries.
