BATEY, Frances “Fran” Annette (Adams) – of Davison, MI, age 84, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Pines of Burton – Memory Care. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Minister Nathan Rasor officiating. Interment will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Otisville Church of Christ, in Frances’ memory.
Fran was born in Athens, AL on October 31, 1937, daughter of the late George Alvin and Cassie (Solomon) Adams. The family relocated to Flint, MI, where she met her true love, Randal Batey, at church. They were married on October 5, 1956 and shared 59 beautiful years together. Randal lovingly called her his “Pretty Little Smooch”. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2015. They had two children, Randal Wade Batey, Robyn Rene Batey-Brown and infant son, Joey, who passed shortly after birth. Fran and Randal were lifelong members of the Church of Christ, the most recent congregation being Otisville Church of Christ. She worked at WKMF Radio Station for many years and after that, she worked for Valley Christian Academy. Fran loved music, singing and traveling. Most of all, she loved her family. She was a wonderful mom and grandma.
Frances is survived by her children, Randal Wade (Barbara) and Robyn Rene Brown; grandchildren, Tifani (Chris) Hoover, Tera Batey, Katie (AJ) Scott, Brook (Andy) Heim, Logan Brown and Taylor Batey; great-grandchildren, Elijah, Tre and Braylon; and many friends and family who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Cassie; husband, Randal; brothers. Hugo, Frank and Stacey; and Baby Joey.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Rosa and the entire staff at the Pines of Burton for their compassionate care and loving Fran as one of their own.
