ANDERSON, Richard – of Davison, MI, age 90, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2026. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 5073 Daly Blvd., Flint, MI 48506 at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 23, 2026. Private entombment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carriage Town Ministries or St. Mark Lutheran Church in Dick’s memory.
Richard was born in Flint on August 18, 1936, son of late Richard R. and Jessie L. (Horton) Anderson. He married Laura Walton on September 14, 1957, at Calvary Presbyterian Church. Together they spent 69 years loving each other. Dick was a 1954 graduate from Kearsley High School. He proudly served with the US Army Reserves for 6 years. Dick was an excellent athlete playing baseball, basketball, bowling and fast pitch softball until his 70s. He retired from Consumers Power after 33 years of service. Dick loved all things U of M and could always be found watching their sports teams and cheering them on to countless victories. In addition to U of M, he was an avid Tigers fan who enjoyed attending games at the old Tiger Stadium. Above all else, Dick was a dedicated family man who was profoundly proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His family will remember the lessons he taught them of strong work ethic, integrity, and the importance of loving family.
Richard is survived by his loving wife, Laura Anderson; two children, David (Suzanne) Anderson, Paula (Chris Griffin) Anderson; grandchildren, Amanda (Kennedy), Andrew (Marina), Alesha, Jessica; great-grandchildren, Bailey and Axel; brother, Bruce (Kathy) Anderson; nieces and nephews, Julie (Denny), Bart (Shelly), Karen, Brad (Lisa), Clay (Andrea), Larry (Kim), Robert and Jimmy. He was preceded in death by parents, Richard & Jessie Anderson; one brother, Larry (Virginia) Anderson.
