Kathleen Marie Dowdall-Smith, 68, peacefully passed away at Home from a several year long chronic respiratory illness. She entered Paradise on March 16, 2022, Surrounded by Her Loving Family in Traverse City, MI. Kathleen (Ka) was One of Six Children born to Michael and Mary (Seidenwand) Dowdall. She was born on July 1, 1953 in Flint, Michigan. Kathleen attended Holy Rosary Elementary & High School, Graduating in 1971. She was a Devout Catholic & Held a fervent devotion to Our Lady of the Rosary. She belonged to St. John's Catholic Church in Davison for years & St. Francis Catholic Church in Traverse City for the last decade. She was active with the Blue Army and Several Rosary Maker Guilds. She made THOUSANDS of handcrafted Rosaries through the years. These treasures made their way to Family, Friends and Missions throughout the World. She was Proud of Her Irish Heritage & Loved to tell everyone about it. She attended Daily Mass, Prayed the Rosary & Novenas for Her Friend's & Family's special intentions. She was a Hairdresser for years with Her own Salon. She Loved to help Her clients with Her Humor & Skill. She also loved to crochet, making doilies, edging on towels, Baby socks & starched Christmas ornaments. She was world renowned for Her Chop Suey, Turkey Bread Dressing & Peanut Butter Cookies! What a Cook She Was! Her Grandchildren were the Highlight of Her Life & She Loved them all Fiercely! She will be FOREVER LOVED & MISSED by Her surviving 3 Children & Siblings- Sons; Matt (Bridget) Smith, Mark Smith, Daughter- Molly (Tim) Gallagher. Grandchildren- Matthew Jr., Riley, Demi, Nora; Caleb, Sydney, Kate, Natalie, Allyson, Kayla; Finn, Rory, Liam & Gillian. Brothers- Mickey (Diane) Dowdall, Denny (Michelle) Dowdall. Sisters- Coleen Dowdall, Susie Hemmingway and Bridget (Brad) Perry. Many Nieces & Nephews... She had a Lifelong Friend in Laurie Brock & Dear Friend Amy Szikszay. She was preceded in Death by Her Parents Michael Dowdall & Mary Seidenwand... Cremation has taken place, A Mass, Rosary and Memorial will be announced at a later date in May… She will be placed in a niche at St. John's Mausoleum, Davison.
