Norman Arthur “Norm” Czap of Davison, age 92, died Tuesday October 24, 2023 at Charter Senior Living, Davison. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Monday October 30, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 404 Dayton St. Davison, Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at St. John Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 2-5 pm Sunday at the funeral home. Norm will lie in state from 11:00 am Monday until time of services at the church. Those desiring may make contributions in his memory to the Church Memorial Fund.
Norman was born in Michigan on October 9, 1931 the son of the late Michael and Amelia Czap and had resided in the Davison area most of his life. He was joined in marriage to Prakseda Helen Krupa on February 13, 1954 in Flint and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2016. Answering the call of his country Norm proudly served in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Davison, and was a former member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4090 in Davison. Norm was an adventurous man who spent hours searching the hidden treasures of Freeman’s Auto Salvage and could be found daily at Leo’s Restaurant with his morning coffee, and the Apollo Restaurant for an evening dinner. Norm had been employed by General Motors AC Spark Plug Division until his retirement in 1987.
Surviving are children: Christine & Martin Herta, Joanne & Richard Saari, Raymond Czap, Kevin & Tena Czap, and James & Brenda Czap. He also leaves his loving nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Surviving also is brother Larry Czap, and a host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by grandson Ryan Czap in 2022. Please share your condolences at www.hansenfuneralhome.net
