Powell, Arlene J.- of Montrose, age 90, died peacefully Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at Ascension Genesys of Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held 1PM Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Bob Leming officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 11AM until the time of service on Saturday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to The Shriners Hospital for Children or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Arlene was born December 25, 1931, in Columbiaville, Michigan to the late Fredrick and Berneda (Traver) Kreger. On June 4, 1952, Arlene married the love of her life, Gene Powell. Together they celebrated 69 years of marriage. Arlene was a talented, self-taught woman who enjoyed keeping her hands busy doing woodwork and painting. She liked to attend the Montrose Blueberry Festival where she would show and sell her crafts. Together, Gene and Arlene were honored as Grand Marshals of the Blueberry Festival. Arlene was a great wife, mom, and grandma who was loved by many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Arlene is forever loved by: Husband, Gene Powell; Children: Dean (Maria) Powell, Doug (Rita) Powell, Drew Powell, and Darryl (Lana) Powell; 13 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; Siblings: Ralph (Rita) Kreger, Margaret Wilcox, and Barbara Ann Harris. She was preceded in death by brother, Fredrick “Bill” Kreger; Grandson, Duane Powell; Brothers-in-law: Steve Harris and Robert Wilcox.
