ERVIN, Kaye D. – of Chesaning, died Friday, May 12, 2023, at her residence. She was 86 years of age.
Kaye was born December 2, 1936, in Flint to the late Harry and Norma (Davis) Schneider. She was a resident of Chesaning since 1985 coming from Grand Blanc. She was a 1954 graduate of Grand Blanc High School and earned her Associates Degree from University of Michigan. She married her high school sweetheart, Mel, on June 9, 1956. Together they started a business together then became owners of Mel Ervin Ford in Chesaning in 1979. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and the former Showboat Decorating Committee for many years. She enjoyed boating, camping, attending car races, taking video of the races, going to Florida, and being with family. She was known for being a good wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a hard worker.
Surviving are: husband Mel; children: Marcy King (Steve Windom), Jeffrey (Tina) Ervin, Mark (Sheryl) Ervin all of Chesaning; 6 grandchildren: Anthony (Cathy) Ervin, Natalie (Andrew) Klaassen, Stephanie (Keith) Larzelere, Morgan (Zach) Benkert, Madeline Ervin and Harrison Ervin; 4 great-grandchildren: Magnus Ervin, Everett Ervin, Max Larzelere and Wesley Klaassen; brother Chris (Louise) Schneider of Kalamazoo; and 2 nephews.
Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Contributions in her memory may be made to Amara Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
